Bali 2014 | Arriving in Bali

Finally off to our long awaited Bali trip!! One thing I learnt is that never plan too much for a trip – it will just leave you less excited about it because you seem to know everything. That's something I quite regret :-(

Anyways, it was made much much better with the company of Foo Chek Siang, so I am really thankful for him. Not just because I like hanging with him but also because he arranged fun activities for us too!

Took a 4a.m flight, which was delayed by an hour. Furthermore, the original flight timing was pushed forward an hour already… This is what you get for budget airlines, I guess. Pretty bummed out by their services, but oh well.

Look at our tired faces haha. The seats were extremely uncomfortable and crammed. When we awoke from our short and unpleasant nap, you could hear all passengers sniffing due to morning sinus.

We arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport! Being pretty hungry we searched for food, while at the same time worrying about our budget haha.

We ate at this restaurant, where their menu of pastas drew us in and I am glad we decided on that place! I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but it is right next to the departure hall.

The service was incredible.
The waiters & waitresses were so friendly when serving us. Also, I asked where we could get a SIM card and one of the waiters actually offered to drive out of the airport to buy one for us! He even came back with the change, expecting nothing in return. Now that’s really crazy good service! I felt so indebted to him, haha.
Thank you, sir :-)

Clouds in Bali are really big and fluffy! Which means heavy afternoon showers too haha (too Geography influenced).

Arrived at our resort, a one & a half hour drive from the airport. It is a really great place to get away from the more touristy areas like Kuta and Seminyak.

We had our first two meals (lunch & dinner) at the resort itself because we were still not familiar with getting around.

The resort has a menu for all 3 meals of the day and does room service. Obviously it does cost more than outside but it is very convenient for those days you just feel like staying in to chill.

That wrapped up our tiring day 1 (because of the flight time)!
